Just a few days before President Obama’s visit to Chile, in Washington D.C.:

Minister Alfredo Moreno meets with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

 

 

Washington D.C., March 10th, 2011.- A few days before President Obama´s visit to Chile, as part of his visit to Latin America, Minister Moreno privately met Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. The meeting was held at Clinton´s offices at the Department of State in Washington D.C., and lasted over 40 minutes.

At this time, Moreno and Clinton, instead of just outlining details about President Obama´ visit, they analyzed and exchanged ideas

about the future relationship between Chile and the U.S. following the visit. Both authorities agreed that the President´ visit is a very positive sign for Chile and for the entire region, and that it will set off a new period of bilateral relationship.

Chilean Ambassador to the U.S., Mr. Arturo Fermandois, and other Chilean diplomats, accompanied Minister Moreno during his visit. Earlier in the week he had been in Europe with President Sebastian Piñera, which allowed him to meet Secretary Hillary Clinton following the Presidential tour
