Tourist Visa (single or
multiple entrances)
US Citizens traveling to Chile for recreation,
on business or to attend conferences or the like do not need a visa to enter Chile.
They need their valid passport and round trip ticket or a continuing
ticket to another country. An administrative fee of US$ 131 will be charged
upon arrival. A tourist card will be issued upon landing in Chile. No
vaccinations are required.
Citizens of other countries should ask at the Consulate if they need a tourist visa.
Listed below are the requirements to apply for a Tourist Visa. You must submit your application and supporting documents in person.

Applications must be made in person at the
Consulate

Valid Passport (Valid at least for the
term of the visa)

Certificate or letter of employment or
profession

Explaintion as to the reason(s) of the trip
- Provide of Letter of Invitation, if
applicable. Provide the full name and address of inviting person.
- Marital status. If you are married to a
Chilean citizen or a person of Chilean origin the marriage certificate
must be presented
- Visas are granted for a period of 30 to 90 days, according to the nationality of the applicant. Each request is analized on its merits (case by case) by the Chilean authorities. Visa can be extended for a new period in Chile. This extensions are granted by the "Departamento de Extranjería of the Ministerio del Interior" in Santiago .
- Fees vary according to the nationality
of the applicant.
