STUDENT VISA

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

v    1. Valid passport.

v     2. Application forms (1 and 2) Typed and ALL CAPS

v    3. Health certificate recently issued by a Doctor stating that the applicant enjoys good health and has no communicable diseases. 

 

v     4. HIV test.

 

v     5. Police Certificate (record) recently issued by Federal Authorities stating that the applicant has no records nationwide. (FBI BACKGROUND      CHECK)

v     6. Four (4) color passport photographs (2x2 in).

 

v      7. Letter or certificate of financial support (scholarship, bank statement, parents, etc.)

 

v     8. Letter of acceptance from University or School where the applicant will be studying.

 

A visa fee must be paid at the Consulate. Values vary according to the nationality of the applicant. For U.S. Citizens the visa itself has no cost but there is an administrative reciprocity fee of US$ 131 dollars.

Fees must be paid by money order or direct deposit to the Consulate of Chile bank account. Checks are NOT accepted.

 

PROCEDURE FOR THE CONSULATE IN WASHINGTON, DC: (Please contact other Consulates at http://chile-usa.org/consular.htm)

1. Send a COPY of your documents, including a copy of the passport picture page to the Consulate by email and if that is not possible, by express mail or courrier. Please state a date of preference for an appointment.

     DO NOT MAIL YOUR PASSPORT, MONEY ORDER OR RETURN ENVELOPE - Visas are never retuned by mail.

2. You will be contacted by email in order to confirm your appointment.

     APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN PERSON FOR AN INTERVIEW AT THE TIME OF STAMPING THE VISA IN THEIR PASSPORTS.

3. You must attend your appointment with the ORIGINALS of your documents, including your passport.

4. Please pay only by credit or debit card.
